Did your hear anything new on this topic so far? I'm a potential customer of that lens if it has OS and HSM :-)

Sigma uses gold and EX for their professional lenses.

Btw: "The pictured lens is the current model." (Which are absolutely not compete with L series :F)

Thanks for the clarification. So HSM is faster, quieter and more expensive, I guess.

I'm not that familiar with Sigma-speak.

I assume in both cases, you get a lens that will autofocus on Nikon's lower-end digital SLRs, like the D40, that lack the screw-drive mechanisms of older and more expensive Nikons.

The 24/1.8 is compared to the Leica 24/1.4 in this weeks Amateur Photographer and got an excellent review. Compared very well with the Leica and at only 10% of the price !!!

knowing that Sigma has been almost equally updating the 50/1.4 with Nikon and the 30/1.4 before Nikon came with the 35/1.8, they will do the same probably with the 20-24-28/1.8's. Please Nikon let me be wrong about this one

Wasn't there a rumor about a 70-200mm OS, a while back? Or even a report from an expo? Don't really remember.

I hope they update their 24 and 28mm primes, they seem to have lot potential, within an emerging FX market. Has anyone tried the 24mm? Wide open? Only had a chance to see the 28mm perform on a 35mm, which unfortunately didn't convince me, wide open.

Built-in is not the same as HSM, see Tamron and Tokina as far as I know. HSM is like AF-s (SWM) lenses of Nikkor. There is a difference in speed for all I know.

They list a new non-APO, non-OS version for Nikon with the built-in motor for $220.

The APO version wtihout HSM (buiit-in motor) or OS lists for $280.

So, it will be interesting to see what the total will be for one with APO, OS and built-in-motor.
