I don´t know which CCD has antibloombing structure, but many Sony CCD sensors don´t have it.
Look the D70/D50 sensor with electronic shutter…

The LOD structure antibloombing is a very efficient system and allow the camera use electronic shutter (high speed syncro).
But this structure limit the photodiodo just to 70%, if the SuperHAD II has a improved microlenses and photodiode size is probably a positive response of the sensor.

Now that’s a promising coming back to CCD.
And with this promising structure, let’s dream one moment that Fuji takes this sensor and use its knowledge on SuperCCD to make a SuperHAD II SuperCCD, with less pixels. Since there are one set of full pixels and one set of quarter-surface pixel, we barely lose one fifth of the “surface”, giving a final 28Mp camera.
That fine efficient sensor, with the +6dB from Sony and the 2 extra stops of DR, combined with Fuji knowledge of noise treatment and of color management…

that is actually a super 35mm sensor, which is closer to an APS-C sized sensor. Super35 is a standard for film.

Also, that camera is several hundred thousand dollars.

The original Super HAD CCD has been used in security cameras as well as dSLRs, the Super HAD CCII shouldn’t change that. The fact that the CCD is used in multiple applications is not evidence that it won’t be used in photographic ones.

The fact that this is a ful-frame 35mm sensor suggests that its specifically for SLR cameras, closed-circuit security applications use smaller sensors.

The SuperHAD CCD sensor is not new in Sony digital camera, almost all CyberShot CCD cameras are SuperHAD CCD.

How is it like the S2? This supposed camera has/will have a 24×36 mm sensor. The S2 sensor is much larger. This whole thing just doesn’t sound right.

There is no mention to 35mm, large format or even, DSLR or ISO Speeds BECAUSE this technology as they told is used in Security Camera Aplications not made for photography. Where are the links to those captures posted?? looks like a photoshop job.

CMOS? Where do you read that. It seems they use a charge-coupled device (CCD). Only by this choice they’re able to re-introduce the electronic shutter, as it has been used for example in the Nikon D40, providing a flash sync time of down to 1/500.

Caused by the electronic shutter, the D40′s sensor had a propensity for blooming around highlights. This problem is solved now, as they say.

I think sensor sensitivity was a reason to change to CMOS, but now CCD seems to catch up again. Another advantage, since I suppose this is coupled to the possibility of electronic shutter as well, would be the avoidance of rolling shutter effect in movie recording.

So this sensor seems to enable nice developments. I expect to see a variant of this sensor in Nikon products, starting possibly mid to end of next year. I suspect the D800 to feature this kind. I would hope for two versions though, a D800x with up to those 35 MPx and a D800 with around 16 Megapixels and higher sensitivity.

Could be some time before we see this in a camera. Looks like it is a research announcement rather than a product announcement.

Still, the electronic shutter is something I have predicted for several years now. High speed flash sync is the main advantage that the medium format studio cameras offer. An electronic shutter matches that advantage and the resolution is only slightly off the best medium format cameras.

Thing that makes me somewhat skeptical is the choice of CMOS.
