Then one could use all sorts of MF lenses or even AF lenses from say Canon and Nikon, albeit in MF mode, via lens adapters. Bet a lot of Nikon owners would pop for a Sony A900 or A850 body if they could use their Nikkors on it . Would be a nice addition to have along with the D3S. Dont know if Nikon would be amused if it were possible?? Wonder if G type Nikkors came about because folks were mounting almost any Nikkor ever made without any problems on non-FF Canon DSLRs ???

If only Sony would change their lens flange to Sensor distance to that used by Canon. The rumored new sensor will be FF and 14.6 MP.

The A550 does not use a FF sensor and is also 14.2 MP. For most, 80% of the performance at 1/3 the cost is a very strong value tradeoff. Were talking about the first truly affordable FF sensor DSLR that will be fast and good at high ISO. It's a camera that Nikon and Canon should already have offered. Once SOny gets it's video feature together, they will have a strong following in all users except for the pro field.

As in the past if Nikon does put this sensor in a future offering, it surely will be a better performing overall unit, but it will also be 3 times the price. So be prepared to see this in a Nikon camera at a much better performance

seeing what Nikon could pull of the sensor in the D3x and what Sony couldnt in the A900, I guess the 14.6 MP sensor will be nowhere near what the D3 (yes not s) was for Nikon.
