Pioneer to start producing digital cameras?

Tech-on (Japan) reports that the electronics manufacturer Pioneer has established a joint venture in Brazil and will start producing digital cameras. The production is expected to start later this year. WSJ reprots that the new digital cameras will be available for sale on the Chinese market. The goal is to reach 500,000 units by 2015.

    Apple is also coming to brazil to mount iPad 2. Usually the eletronics are only mounted in brazil and all thier components is imported from chine or where ever is produced. Hope to some day we also begun to produce our own good quality components.

    Oh, I didn’t know that Pioneer still exists. I just had a look at their homepage. Not a bad impression. But why cameras? Seems to me, that they’re just floating with the tide. What’s their expertise in this topic?

      You got to start somewhere… and a company like Pioneer shouldn’t have any issues with that.
