who wouldnt now, the OM-D is outshining the competition. The only company i would mind taking them over is Samsung, i know they have their strengths but it isnt in photography.

And by “strategic partner” they really mean their “pimp”.

Panasonic makes sense – they could consolidate m4/3 market share and marketing.
Samsung has dreams of being a full up camera comapny but I am not sure if buying Oly will get them there. It would seem closer to Sony buying Minolta -Oly would cease to exist as a brand.
Sony makes no sense at all other than to kill off a competition. Sony has a full line and pleanty of photo IP from Minolta.

Go for Fuji please. Image a OM-D with a Fuji sensor. That would lure me back to 4/3 again.

      What Fuji sensor?
The Sony one in X Pro1?

Spot on. It would be killer. I know Fuji now have their own mount, but EXR tech in an OM-D would rock.

Panasonic would swallow Olympus Camera (and other) business and then we would have only Lumix line of m4/3 cameras on the market.
I actually think Samsung would be the best. They have very advanced sensor technology, NX line is not doing so great so they could focus more on PEN in the future and Samsung probably needs know-how in camera and lens production. Olympus medical business is also very attractive to them. Also I think Samsung will bid high to acquire Japanese company.

I wouldn’t like to see Lumix buy Olympus, because making it a primarily one manufacturer system would ruin M4/3.

Of course Fujifilm, the have a medical department so will be more complete by Olympus, and also camera department will be more complete to.
