    *Yawn* Just another re-hash of the current models so Canon can justify a price bump.

    Canon shooters better stock up on Preparation H…pricing for these new lenses is gonna HURT!

      Agreed. Notice that the diagrams each include a label to one of the lens elements that says “DOE”–diffractive optical element.

        about time canon uses more diffractive optics. lenses have been standing still for too long.

          Sure they can make DO lenses a little bit shorter than non-DO lenses but practically they hardly make any difference and there aren’t even proper bragging rights associated with them since non-DO lenses produce better quality images.
