More on the new Sigma sd Quattro mirrorless cameras

Some more info on the new sd Quattro and sd Quattro H mirrorless cameras with Foveon X3 sensor and Sigma SA mount (based on this YouTube CP+ presentation)

  • Sigma did not try to create a small mirrorless solution with the new sd Quattro (obviously)
  • Sigma tried to gain advantage from AF, AE accuracy and lack of mirror vibration - all typical to mirrorless cameras
  • The new Foveon sensor has one stop better high ISO performance compared to their previous dp cameras
  • The new EVF has 40% delay improvement over previous versions
  • The exact release dates are not yet available, but the sd Quattro is expected before the summer, the sd Quattro H before the end of the year
