    not even for 299$….

    • BP2012

Yeah, Canon EOS M camera is cheaper. Probably because of 4K.

  • Minority_Taxi

Wasn’t body only going to be US$320?

    • Who said that?

    • Jeffry De Meyer

Maybe direct rmb to usd conversion.
Give it a couple of months and the price will go down if currencies don’t go more insane than they already are.

It has been reported that the slow motion pic showed in the 3rd video was taken by a Canon DSLR, instead of this YI camera. I don’t have any negative attitude towards companies making low-end cameras, but I despise this YI for its dishonesty.

  • J.L. Williams

I’d probably buy one if it were sold body-only. Would be nice for remote mounting applications.

    • Spy Black

Yeah body-only for around $300 would be interesting.

  • Jeffry De Meyer

Hmm I forgot pentax, seems like they did nothing.
    I was kinda expecting a new 645

    • BP2012

They did K-1 full frame in spring, and K-70 a month ago. New 645 with 100MP sensor from Pentax will be probably released in september-october 2017. Also no new lenses announcement before CP+.

    • PhotoJoe55

Their K1Full Frame DSLR is a fine camera. Maybe not worth such a long wait for Pentax shooters, but I’m glad to see that the brand did survive!

  • peevee

At that price they are not going anywhere.

Will wait on ebay for 42.5/1.8 for $100. Although only 6 elements, probably similar to Canon 50/1.8 in quality at best. But it is not as important for me as AF speed, need to wait for video reviews for that.

    • CHD

It’s $500 for a body and lens…how cheap do you expect it to be???

      • peevee

Straight conversion from yuan, plus small delivery charge.

  • PhotoJoe55

    Very impressive!

  • MonkeySpanner

Does anyone know which variant of the Sony 1″ this body has? Is it the newest stacked CMOS deal? If so, could be interesting.

    • Chou Bidouh

      Joking?

      MFT Sensor, not 1″.

Sony IMX 269, same that is used in Panasonic DVX-200, Panasonic GX8, Olympus PEN-F.

      • MonkeySpanner

Oh, snap. Forgot this was mft, not 1″.

  • Fox sweN Lies

What does Yi mean, red dot?

  • James Donahue

When will the silver ones be released.

  • Neopulse
  • maybe it is cheaper in China

  • Osama Al Ali

Why couldn’t they offer this in “body only” option?
