Sony to announce a VG10 camcorder successor and a new digital binocular?

The tip I just received about a new Sony digital binocular sounds more like a joke, but I thought I'd publish it anyway:

In addition to the NEX-7, NEX-5N, a77, a65 cameras and LA-EA2 adapter, Sony is expected to introduce also a successor to the NEX-VG10 E-mount Handycam Camcorder and a new digital binocular (combining a binocular with a digital camera?).

The new E-mount camcorder is expected to have a 16MP sensor (the current VG10 has a 14MP sensor).

The digital binocular will be able to capture images and video (2D & 3D) and will have a built-in GPS. The rest of the specs are:

  • EVF
  • Image stabilization
  • 10x optical zoom
  • 4.2MP sensor
  • HD video
  • priced between $1000-$2000
