Olympus Q2 financial report: revenue down, operating loss posted for Imaging Business


Olympus published their Q2 financial report - here is the relevant info for their Imaging Business:

  • Revenue down as a result of intensified competition and limited ability to supply interchangeable lenses and other products stemming from production base reorganization
  • Operating loss posted primarily due to the recording of expenses for production system reforms (expenses associated with the ceasing of operations at a Chinese manufacturing subsidiary)

The 2019 forecasts further reduced the revenue and operating profit for the Imaging Business (they already revised downwards their future sales last month after their Q1 mirrorless camera revenue was down 11% YoY):
