Exactly one year ago (during CES 2013) Polaroid announced their iM1836 interchangeable lens camera that looked identical to the Nikon 1 J1 model. As a result, Nikon sued Polaroid and the iM1836 was gone, but Polaroid did not give up - during CES 2014 they had another mirrrorless interchangeable lens camera on display (the above pictures are from digitalcamera.jp). The lens mount is probably the same as on the Vivitar IU680 camera (the lens is the same as some readers noted in the comments section). The technical specifications are:
I now have another candidate for the 2014 worst camera of the year.
Update - it seems that there was another Polaroid mirrorless camera on display at CES:
Update #2: Both the Vivitar and the Polaroid brand belong/are licensed to Sakar International, headquartered in Edison, New Jersey. This explains why they used the same lens on the camera lens module.
