Today JVC Kenwood joined the Micro Four Thirds System Standard and promised to introduce an "exciting new line of advanced new Micro Four Thirds products" soon. The NAB they are expected to display a 4k camera prototype. Here is the full press release:

JVC Kenwood Declares Support for the Micro Four Thirds System Standard

Olympus Imaging Corp. and Panasonic Corporation jointly announced the Micro Four Thirds System standard in 2008 and have since been working together to promote the standard. Now we are pleased to announce that JVCKENWOOD Corporation (headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Pref., Japan, President & Representative Director: Shoichiro Eguchi) has recently joined the standard and has committed to develop products compliant with the Micro Four Thirds System Standard.

The JVCKENWOOD Corporation, which manufactures and sells video, audio, and radio equipment globally under the JVC and KENWOOD brands, has joined the Micro Four Thirds group and will soon be introducing an exciting new line of advanced new Micro Four Thirds products. The release of these new products will add to the growing diversity of the Micro Four Thirds System lineup, which now consists of a wide range of products that represent the unique characteristics of each participating company.

As the originator of the Micro Four Thirds System standard, Olympus Imaging Corp. will continue to develop and enhance our interchangeable-lens digital camera system lineup to meet the diverse needs of our customers.
