Canon filed a patent for a metal and plastic resin mount for DSLR cameras. The benefits of this solution are lower weight/cost and better mount sliding/smoothness when attaching lenses.


Canon filed a patent for a CN-E 35-260mm f/2.8 LS soft focus lens for Super 35 cameras.


Olympus filed a patent for correcting motion blur by taking a series of images, figuring out the variations between the different shots and determining the exact subject position. Similar patent was filed for improving the high ISO performance of a camera (again, taking multiple exposures and combining them together for a better low light result).


Tamron filed a patent for a 14-200mm and 14-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DiIII VC lenses.
