The Japanese website nikkan.co.jp reports that Panasonic will have cameras with 8k video recording capabilities by 2020. The company is currently working on the development of next-generation image processing large-scale integrated circuit (10th generation high-speed image processing Venus Engine):

Panasonic has developed a digital camera and broadcast business camera the number of pixels corresponding to the "8K" video shooting of 16 times the full high-definition, sequentially released in 2020. Toward 8K correspondence, it was undertaken on the development of next-generation image processing large-scale integrated circuit (LSI) "10th generation high-speed image processing Venus Engine".

Panasonic has already talked about 8k video in the past. A month ago ephotozine reported the same information (see above slide):

Panasonic announced plans for future 4K and 8K video and photo features, including 4K at 60fps and 120fps, as well as the ability to take 33 megapixel still images from 8K video footage. They say they are planning to have this technology ready for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.
