This rumor got confirmed when Sigma introduced their new 85mm T1.5 FF cinema lens that had a completely new lens design - 14 elements in 12 groups compared to the 11 elements in 8 groups design used in the existing Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM lens.
