More on the Fuji X-A3 delay

The not-yet-announced Fuji A-X10 camera

I received some additional information on the Fuji X-A3 camera delay (the already leaked X-A10 model is also delayed):

Fujifilm was supposed to announce the X-A10 early in November, however, quality control issues at their new Indonesian factory is currently inhibiting their ability to produce units up to the quality they once produced at their old factories in other countries. This is in particular to the assembly of their screens and more specifically - the screen hinge. When the screens were returned from the selfie position, the screens would not sit flush against the back panel, and would either have a gap between the back wall of the camera or, not sit completely parallel to the home position. Part of the issue is that the X-A10 is an all plastic body with mostly molded plastic components.

Interestingly enough, it's the exact same issue with the X-A3 (except the X-A3's top plate is metal, the rest is plastic) - hence why it's been difficult to source globally because there was a non-official recall in which all stores were asked to return all their stock . There were also issues with the X-A3 with the kit lens in which during video recording, the lens aperture would behave erratically. However, there will be a firmware fix for this.

The X-A10's announcement has been pushed back to a revised release date of early December at the earliest.
