The new Leica Q2 camera will be announced on March 6th

The Leica Q2 camera announcement is now confirmed for March 6th. Here is what we know so far about the new Q2:

• A significant increase in megapixels resolution (new 47.3 MP sensor, same sensors as in the Panasonic S1R camera)
• The increased resolution will enable additional "digital zoom" crop option at 75mm focal length (currently only 28mm, 35mm and 50mm are available in the current Leica Q model)
• No changes to form factor, focal length (28mm), or aperture (f/1.7)
• Dust-proof and drip-proof
• 4K video recording capabilities
• Organic EL EVF
