Panasonic Lumix S1H Cine camera leaked online

The French magazine leaked the first pictures and details on the previously rumored Panasonic Lumix S1H Cine camera that will be announced tomorrow:

From autumn 2019, it will take on the LUMIX S1H. This is the third musketeer Panasonic Full format, after the valiant Lumix S1 and S1R .

The third case, very oriented film and video (more than S1) announces a world first shock: video recording in 6K / 24p (at 3: 2) or 5,9K / 30p (16: 9) . He also announced the C4K / 4K (the famous INN) 60p in 10 bits. It also adapts to anamorphic 4: 3 mode. There were rumors about the arrival of 8K or even GH6, but this will be the 6K in Full Format. Not bad...

In short, the engineers he seems focused their efforts on an invisible parameter but problematic: the heating of the housing. And the higher the resolution, the more it heats! Thus, the dispersion of heat seems to have studied to offer the expected video performance. However, the manufacturer says in a statement that as the temperature of the device exceeds the temperature of certified operation, the machine can automatically stop recording video to protect it from damage caused by heat.

MODE 4K

The 4K mode are not forgotten with the ability to record in 4K or better (in our view), crop the videos in 4K 6K, which should increase the Crop mode image resolution or allow to crop more. Ausi stabilization could be improved in the same logic.

Side customizing the image, the LUMIX S1H also has V-Log / V-Gamut with a dynamic range of 14 stops, virtually equivalent to that of the VariCam brand, highlighting the texture of human skin.

Note that the S1H recording format is compatible with the V-Log format recorded by a VariCam or that of the V-Log L registered by the LUMIX GH5 / GH5S.

Video can be recorded in unlimited. It is therefore a type of housing "camcorder".

The prototype LUMIX S1H will be exhibited at "Cine Gear Expo 2019" from 30 May to 2 June 2019.

Price is of course not yet reported.
