Resize AI Integration — ON1 Photo RAW 2023.5 includes all the improvements in ON1 Resize 2023.5 directly built-in. This includes:
Face Recovery — We have added a machine-learning model that detects small faces and enhances them with realistic detail. It’s perfect for old group photos or when you must crop one person out of a photo. It can virtually reconstruct a face from modest details to realistic features and textures. You can turn this feature on or off for each face and control the overall strength to blend best with the original photo.
Noise Reduction — For original photos with high noise or JPG artifacts, you can now use the built-in noise reduction, powered by NoNoise AI, to reduce the noise and artifacts as part of the resizing workflow, leading to higher quality enlargements.
RAW Processing Improvements — The raw processing engine has been upgraded with new internal algorithms to create more natural shadows and fewer edge artifacts.
Improved Refine Mask brush — The Refine Mask brush improves mask edge quality in challenging areas like hair and tree branches. We have improved the algorithm and added new methods for better results.
Encircle Option with Refine Mask — Now, you can use the Refine Mask brush to simply draw around the borders of an object or region to add or subtract from a mask or even create a new mask. It’s perfect for selecting flowers, apparel, and more. You can use it along with the Super Select AI tool to narrow down and improve an AI selection.
Additional Mask AI Options — We have made two new options for Mask AI to make it easier to make masks of the foreground and background in photos of people and animals.
Updated Curves — You’ve asked for it; we listened. The Curves filter in Effects (and the Tone Enhancer) has an improved curves control. You can use the new dropper to set a point on the curve in the photo and drag it up and down to adjust the brightness. You can now remove points, nudge points with the arrow keys via the text fields, and view a helpful histogram and improved grid in the background.
Improved Scroll Wheel — Now, you can control your zoom, pan, and tool options simultaneously with the mouse scroll wheel. It’s a whole new natural way to work.
New Cameras — Added support for the Nikon Z 8.
New Lenses — Added lens profiles for these lenses:
