Coming next: Panasonic Lumix S 28-200mm f/4-7.1 Macro OIS lens – the smallest and lightest of its kind

Panasonic is about to officially announce the previously rumored Lumix S 28-200mm f/4-7.1 MACRO OIS ultra-compact zoom lens for Leica L-mount. Here are the leaked details:

The Lumix S lens series is expanded an ultra-compact zoom lens with optical image stabilizer and 0.5x macro magnification. With dimensions of just φ77.3 x 93.4 mm and 413 g, it is the smallest and lightest full-frame zoom lens in the world*, making it the perfect companion for travel, trekking and many other occasions.

The lens has fast, precise autofocus, impresses with smooth exposure changes, beautiful bokeh and is perfect for both photos and videos. It has the same 67mm filter thread and similar dimensions as the F1.8 fixed focal length series and the 100mm macro lens, making it particularly interesting for gimbal users.

With this focal length, you will no longer miss a subject when traveling and on trips with small luggage. The choice of motifs ranges from macro, landscapes, portraits to distant telephoto shots of animals, for example. It is also dust and splash-proof and remains fully usable in cold temperatures of up to -10 degrees Celsius.
