"Buttons takes on this notion of the camera as a networked object. It is a camera that will capture a moment at the press of a button. "At the lab of Alyosha Molnar, Cornell assistant professor of electrical/computer engineering, researchers led by Patrick Gill, a postdoctoral associate have developed a lens-free, pinhead-size camera. Their working prototype is 100th of a millimeter thick, and one-half millimeter on each side. The camera resolves images about 20 pixels across, not portrait studio quality, but enough to shed light on previously hard-to-see things."
