CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association in Japan) published their camera production data for March, 2020 (orange: 2020, black: 2019, blue: 2018, click for larger view):

March 2020 CIPA numbers Year to Date (All comparisons to Jan-March 2019):

DSLR Units : 581K, -40% YTD

DSLR Shipped Value: ¥25.5 million -37%

Mirrorless Units: 594K , -20%

Mirrorless Shipped Value: ¥41.12 million -26%

Compact Units: 906K, -38%

Compact Shipped Value: ¥18.2 million -33%

Lenses for smaller than 35mm Units: 1.37 million, -30%

Lenses for smaller than 35mm Shipped Value: ¥19.7 million, -30%

Lenses for 35mm and larger Units: 838K, -25%

Lenses for 35mm and larger Shipped Value: ¥40 million, -24%

Mirrorless unit share (of Mirrorless + DSLR) 51% (was 43% Jan-March 2019)

Mirrorless Shipped Value share 61.7% (was 57.7% Jan-March 2019)

Interestingly, the ratio of lenses shipped to bodies shipped increased to 2.21:1 in March compared to 1.77 in February. Cumulatively, it’s 1.88 Jan-March 2020 vs 1.79:1 Jan-March 2019.
