July 2020 CIPA reports: big increase in mirrorless shipments
CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association in Japan) published their camera production data for July, 2020 (orange: 2020, black: 2019, blue: 2018, click for larger view):
July 2020 CIPA numbers:
- Big increase in Mirrorless shipment levels compared to June (215K Mirrorless units vs. 159K).
- Mirrorless bodies now account for 51.5% of units and 65% of value (of Mirrorless + DSLR).
- At the current pace, total ILC bodies in 2020 will be between 4.05 and 4.5 million units. It was 8.46 million in 2019, 10.76 million in 2018, and 11.68 million in 2017.
