Sony’s presentation to investors
In a recent presentation to investors, Sony provided some additional information on their Imaging Products & Solutions Segment (see the full report "Sony IR Day 2017" here, additional information is available here):
- Sony is still the third camera/lens manufacturer globally (with 14% market share)
- Sony claims to be the world's leading mirrorless camera brand (in Japan Olympus is still the best selling mirrorless camera)
- The company is bullish about 2017
- Operating income remains flat even with declining sales
- Sony predicts annual growth rate of 27% for cameras
- Sales are expected to grow by 10%
- Operating income is expected to go up by 12.7% (driven by high margin products - get ready for higher prices and this is true for all brands)
