The upcoming Olympus IM010 camera could have a built-in vertical grip

An update on the upcoming Olympus IM010 camera that was registered two weeks ago: Nokishita now reports that the new model has passed the FCC certification. The interesting part here are the dimensions of the new Olympus camera:

144.37mm x 146.765mm x 75.345mm

That is huge for an MFT camera! The new IM010 model will be significantly larger than the Olympus E-M1 Mark II (134.1mm x 90.9mm x 68.9mm) and it will almost have a square form - an indication for a built-in vertical grip similar to the Canon 1DX Mark II (158mm x 167.6mm x 82.6mm) and Nikon D5 (160mm x 158.5mm x 92mm):

Update - here is another comparison from the comments section (thanks SteveHood):

Additional information on the Olympus IM010 camera:

Olympus will also release a new electronic flash (IM011), wireless commander (IM012) and a wireless receiver (IM013).

Olympus already confirmed that a major announcement is expected in May.

My personal opinion is that Olympus went the wrong path with that camera - they will not go far by making more expensive, bigger MFT cameras.
