The Nikon Z 24-70mm f2.8 S II Lens reimagines one of the most essential pro zoom lenses in the Z-mount lineup. Nearly seven years after the first edition, the updated Mark II introduces an internal zoom with more stability, faster and quieter autofocus, and a declickable control ring for tactile adjustments. Its 14-element f2.8 optical design retains the same high-end formula, delivering greater hybrid performance in Nikon’s Pro Zoom Trinity range.
- The internal zoom mechanism, adopted first in its class, maintains a consistent length while zooming, ensuring balance on gimbals and superior reliability in challenging conditions.
- The lightest design for a 24-70mm f/2.8 zoom lens, weighing only approx. 675 g/1 lb 7.9 oz.
- Fast and accurate AF is realized by adopting a multi-focusing system with Nikon’s proprietary Silky Swift Voice Coil Motors (SSVCM) employed as high-speed AF actuators that also significantly reduce noise and vibration.
- The adoption of a large-diameter double-sided aspherical lens for the front lens element and effective arrangement of ED glass and aspherical lens elements provide the highest level of image quality in the S-Line series.
- The use of Nikon’s proprietary Meso Amorphous Coat and ARNEO Coat effectively suppresses ghosting and flares, achieving edge-to-edge clarity across the entire frame, even in backlit scenes.
