Today Tamron announced their first lens for mirrorless cameras – the 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III VC for Sony NEX system. You can download the PDF brochure here. Tamron filed a patent for a teleconverter with a built-in image stabilization. This will allow to add image stabilization to any existing/old lens by just adding this teleconverter. Tamron is working on a new version of its current AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC lens that should be released soon. Initially this lens was scheduled to be released at Photokina, but then it was delayed. The new lens is expected to be significantly smaller than its predecessor (the current model weights 550g|19.4oz).
