Amazon announced on their website that Adobe Photoshop Elements 8/9 (Win/Mac) will be released on October 22, 2009. The site is already removed, but here are the details:

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 8/9 ?? What is 9 in this? I think it’s just Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.

    8 is for Mac, 9 for Windows

    Why the name game? Why not just be same version number for both PC and Mac?

    Or are they really different??????

    Title of the post is wrong. It’s Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 for both the PC and the Mac. But Adobe is also releasing Adobe Premiere Elements 9 for PC/Mac at the same time. They tend to sell the two product as a single package though…that probably explains the 8/9 version confusion.

    Adobe is releasing Photoshop Elements 8 for both Windows and Mac, and Premier Elements 8 for Windows. There is no version 9 of either of the products is being released.
