As a reader mentioned in a previous post (jeff-c) the expected medium format Pentax 645D camera may be using this model KAF-39000 39MP CCD sensor from Kodak (visit the link for full specs):

why is everything so slow before coming out ?
I want to see a real improvement in digital today, before buying any new product. medium format is surely an answer, but new sensor technology is even better. I would like to see 16bit color depth everywhere & nice dynamic range as well.

Well, you won’t have to worry about taking pictures of the camera with the camera. That would be like dividing by zero.

That is the Leica S2′s sensor.

Olivier, The Leica S2 has a 6µm pixel pitch, the above sensor has a 6.8µm but you could be right.

How many years has Pentax been promising this camera?
Why bother to repeat anything at all about this vapor-flex, zero chance camera?
If Pentax could have, they would have.
Congress will announce they are all going to read the Constitution before this camera ever makes it to market.

    Hi,
just to mention that, having been attending at a photo exhibition this fall, I happened to have a conversation at a Pentax photo booth about this camera. As a matter of fact, I am still using the Pentax 6×7 and went there to ask about the potential for a digital version in a foreseeable future.
This was entirely unsollicitated but the representatives were extremely affirmative about the appearance of a 4.5×6 camera by the beginning of 2010 : I had no more details but they were everything but vague about this.

might be true, but they will again release it incomplete, for price lower but not that much then twice so better competition and then they will realized that:

      1) those people who want to buy such stuff care for the system a lot, not just the body.

      2) those who rent, rather rent hassy or leaf

      3) they failed (yet) again
