Those new products from Sigma are expected to be released for PMA. I will post the direct link later today since I am hoping that some more info will be uploaded in the next few hours.

8-16! Wow. I guess now that NiCaTa have 10mm UW lenses Sigma must regain the title. 8 mm is actually wider on APS-C than 14 is on FF. But I’m not holding my breath. Sigma has a way of making things look good spec wise but fall short IQ wise.

8-16mm is the APS-C equivalent of their FF ultrawide zoom (12-24mm).

Is this a Fisheye? It LOOKS like a fisheye zoom. And it looks cropped body format, not fullframe. I am not familiar with Sigma nomenclature though…..

I feel doubtful its going to be a very good lens. Its not a constant lens. And it doesn’t even have SIgma’s gold line on it. While going wider than 14mm is intriguing, its still going to have tons of distortion and even with a 14-24, I rarely go below 16/17 because of the weirdness involved in perspective.

Still, this lens might be great based on price alone. If one could buy it + the 16-35 f/4 (Nikon) for the same or a just a bit more than the 14-24 f2.8, unless you have serious low-light needs, this would be a great alternative.

Why another 50-500 with the same specs as the old one?. Why not make it a 60-600 then or a 50-500/f4-5.6?. They already have a 50-500 and 150-500.

The new version will have image stabilisation, one of the main drawbacks of the old model.

Some think Sigma had lost its way. If they do all that, with OS, then the wide, the normal and that 50-500 may all be on my shopping list. Now if they could just OS the 50-150…

i would rather see a 24mm 1.4 or an updated 24mm 1.8. Sigma really need to make allocate their resources to lens that matter more. Many of their lens are identical in uses. (3 versions of 17-50mm, 2 10-20mm, 2 24-70mm, 3 18-50mm, their are more) i am happy to see a 85 1.4

Nobody (but me) is laughing about the DP1+2-x = 0?
C’mon, they had a winner idea years ago, and let the field to all other makers to build their mirrorless intercangeable systems …
