This is the response from Samyang regarding the upcoming 35mm f/1.4 lens:

"We would like to show a sample on Photokina.
It starts 21 September of this year.
35mm will be 1.4 we don't plan to make it 1.2. It should be available at the end of this year."

The Samyang 35mm f/1.4 lens will have manual focus.

    Nah, to be honest – it’d prefer if they start working on their own AF system.

    the 85mm 1.4 is sharper than the leica version. I bought 1 under the name “rokinon”. it just rocks ! no puke here !

    If they haven’t decided between f/1.4 and f/1.2, it doesn’t sound like the design is too far along.

    Is samyang a company worth investing for? I have a 5d, looking to get a 35mm, is it worth possibly going with them over a canon 35mm f/2?
