This is the response from Samyang regarding the upcoming 35mm f/1.4 lens:
"We would like to show a sample on Photokina.
It starts 21 September of this year.
35mm will be 1.4 we don't plan to make it 1.2. It should be available at the end of this year."
You can see the complete email correspondence on FredMiranda.
The Samyang 35mm f/1.4 lens will have manual focus.

If it happens to be so good as 85/1.4 -> I BUY
Nah, to be honest – it’d prefer if they start working on their own AF system.
:eyeroll:
the 85mm 1.4 is sharper than the leica version. I bought 1 under the name “rokinon”. it just rocks ! no puke here !
Yeah Samyang rocks ! btw, white background sucks !
If they haven’t decided between f/1.4 and f/1.2, it doesn’t sound like the design is too far along.
“we don’t plan to make it 1.2.”
I think it means they are going to make it 1.4 Axel
Is samyang a company worth investing for? I have a 5d, looking to get a 35mm, is it worth possibly going with them over a canon 35mm f/2?
