NikonRumors is temporarily down. I am moving to a new hosting company and a new server. I will be posting Nikon related updates (if any) here and on http://www.nikonrumors.net.
You can also get NikonRumors updates on Twitter and Facebook.

That’s oke…… I follow your great blog here or on twitter for as long it will take.
By the way….. I hope Nikonrumors will be back soon
can NikonRumors tell us about the Virus/Trojan origin? is that like google had once been attacked event? attacker came from a certain Far East base?
I’m here!
Any idea how long NR will be down Admin? In time for the big announcements?
It all depends how fast the new host will get the new server ready and if I run into any technical problems, but I guess nikonrumors.com should be up by tomorrow (Monday) night.
That would be great!
Glad to hear that! I’m suffering from withdrawal symptoms… :p
I hope everything will go well.
I hope you get the Nikon Rumors issue fixed soon.
Thanks for the hard work.

For a minute there I thought that the virus issue had reappeared and that the site was being blocked somehow. Take your time, so long as it’s up and running in advance of the 15th.
Inquiring minds need to know!
PR admin,
Can you tell us about the Virus/Trojan origin? is that like google had once been attacked event? attacker came from a certain Far East base?
Thanks
This has nothing to do with the malware from last – my current host cannot handle the amount of traffic I am getting and they pulled the plug on my blog. I am now moving to a new server.
This is all your fault then…doing a great job…increasing traffic…just kidding…
Thanks for your reply
based on your tweets, sounds like your former host did you dirty! they should have been able to handle the traffic instead of pulling the plug on you like that
What’s this? I don’t like the sound of plugs being pulled. Ouch!
temporary or temporarily? I think you need and adverb there..
Good luck with the migration to the new server!
cheers
leo
… temporarily, you need AN adverb there… we all make mistakes 8^)
Oh! NikonRumors is down! It’s mean only one thing – Nikon D7000 is coming!
eagarly waiting for NR to be up again

Guys, wait few more years and there will be viruses in our cameras……

Sadly this is very true. The smarter they make our devices the more likely for viruses being written to attack them.
Tried to get to NR last night, thought maybe you were switching servers, so tried flushing the DNS cache, no joy. Like the fail over server this morning, at least it let me know what was going on.
Good luck on the switch. Look forward to NR being back on line.

hehehe, nice!
: oops :
FYI: my host MediaTemple did NOT pull the plug on NR because of the malware present on their grid servers last week that brought several sites down, incl. NikonRumors. They pulled the plug because I was using “too much resources” on their servers. There was no warning and of course they did not tell you in advance how much resources you can use, they just disabled the site. If you are suing MediaTemple grid servers as your host, be aware that Media Temple can pull the plug at any time without warning.
With Explorer I got the message about this on nikonrumors.com, with Firefox just a blank page, not sure if only me.
Good luck with migration, kutgw!
Take your time Admin – you’ve been amaizingly useful information source for a long time. I know the pain of moving sites to a new server, so take it easy – it’s going to turn out good for you – no more problems with bandwith, unrealiable hosts, filling tickets without getting answers etc
the speed actually Nikon delivers …. NRAdmin, just take your time
Good. Now i can have a life. We can hope it will be up just in time for the d700 replacement release.
I hope you mean the D7000 release, cause if we have to wait for the D700 replacement for NR to come back, well ….
We’re looking forwards to your relaunch!
It’s OK, Just transfer it, we can wait a bit more. You’re doing a great job so we do appreciate it.
Any infos about the D700 at $1995 on August 31th ?
Anyone ?
This is the worst migration I’ve seen someone do in a while. The proper way of migrating a site from one server to another is to setup the server first, then uploading all the files, then migrate all database info, and lastly updating the name servers to the new server…..and your site is up and running with zero interference.
Think about how much money the nikonrumors guys is losing right now.
Trust me, I know how to migrate to a new server – what you are missing is the fact that my old host (MediaTemple) suspended my account because they could not handle the traffic. This was of course without any warning. 24 hr later, NR is back online.
At the same time when NR had malware attack, my computer was infected with sality trojan. Was that a coincidence or not?
