lots of rumor about a 4/3rd size/bridge camera coming from Nikon. But my initial excitement about this panasonic has subsided coz i realize its really only 16mp.. tut

My excitement about the GH2 has dropped .. because it has a 16mp sensor!

16mp sensor means sub-optimal low-light performance. 1080p would also require more resources, power and generate more heat to downscale.

If only Panasonic realizes that the primary market for the GH2 is HD-video and not as a still camera as there are so many other better alternatives out there, then it could better design the GH2 and not cripple any efforts to improve it as it is currently doing with its GH1.

Too much pixels for a 43 sensor. T2i already is extremely noisy at 100 iso.

A 4MP dedicated video camera would be the perfect bet for extreme dynamic range & IQ !!!

Nah, IMHO: 4 is bit too extreme. 10 would do the work though. 10 MPx all I ever need. All bigger get scaled down for improved quality any way.

Would settle for 3840 X 2160 = ~ 8.3MP that is 2X the resolution of 1920 X 1080 of full HD (approx 4K). cool if you can shoot 24fps or higher @ the full 8.3MP res without any line skipping.

sky, I am not talking about a Photo camera, but a dedicated video camera, so, there’s absolutely no need of 10MP or higher.

Catastrophile : you are right, i am with you : put a 8MP super HD back lighted sensor & that would be an awesome balance between resolution & dynamic range.
