Olympus filed a patent for an ultra wide external viewfinder/eyewear display:

The first diagram shows the when a shutter it closed, it uses the eyewear viewfinder to display the picture and when the shutter is opened, the glasses are "opened":

My dreamed device has began to take shape…Soon all huge plasma LCD will be outdated. All future visual info from cellphone display, car dashboard/rear mirror, news,…even camera/video settings and real time effect etc….will be transmitted via personal shortwave communication signal to eyewear devices.
Beam it straight to my brain, damnit. Cut out the middlemen!
If you can interface your brain with it, why bother to use an artificial processor or DSP.
