Ricoh to announce Leica lens cartridge for the GXR system

Ricoh is about to announce a new Leica mount cartridge for the Ricoh GRX system. A prototype was already shown at the CP+ show last year. The unit will have a 12.9MP 23.6×15.7mm APS-C size CMOS sensor and a newly-developed focal plane shutter. The unit is expected to be released in autumn of 2011. Via AP

New Pentax RZ-18 Optio compact camera

Sony is about to announce two new cameras (HX100V and HX9V)

Update: Amazon is now taking pre-orders for Sony HX9V and Sony DSC-HX100V. In the next two days Sony will announce at two new point and shoot cameras: Sony DSC-HX100V and DSC-HX9V. The specs after the break:

Kenko to unveil their interchangeable lenses digital camera tomorrow (C-mount) *UPDATED*

Pentax K-x and K-7 now officially discontinued

Pentax K-x and K-7 are now listed as discontinued on pentax.jp. Both models were replaced by the Penatx K-r and K-5 in September 2010. The now discontinued K-x and K-7 were announced in September 2009. It will be interesting to see if Pentax will keep this 12 months refresh cycle.
