I mentioned about the upcoming Pentax K-5 SIlver last week and today two pictures were leaked by Pentax Europe. This also means that the other rumors about the upcoming NC-1 mirrorless camera from Pentax are probably also true. The images are now removed but a pentaxforum member was able to capture them:

Does the silver K-5 come with all the standard features of the black K-5? Namely the sensor stains, focusing issues, perceptible shutter blur and utilize all of the wonderfully defective Pentax SDM lenses? It might be a nice camera system to look at but I wouldn’t shoot with it. Pentax is not a professional grade camera company. The 645D is a nice try but one available lens doesn’t cut it.
Let me state before I get dogpiled by fanboys that gear does make a difference. Read up on Ansel Adams. The man was meticulous in his craft and equipment. What Ansel Adams accomplished could not have been done on a point and shoot or modern Pentax equipment.
Pentax was dead end, oil paint tactics showed it already has no other way.
today, AA-filter stains, focusing issues, shutter blur and defective Pentax SDM drive, etc…, these are merely that you already knew.
if you were versed in electronic craft technology, if you disassemble the K-5/k-7/k-20/k-10, then you would find more chinks, Pentax DSLR’s electromagnetic compatibility craft technology is worst, and their electronic craft design is also worst…, In the analog radio-technology side, now Pentax was blank.
Pentax FA lens era has ended, Z1p era has ended, Pentax fanboys ought to know more, Pentax’s galaxy did not come today.
Ansel Adams photography is boring….the photoshoper from the past……of course now the fanboys can flame me…..lol….ps:i dont use pentax…..
Its is a big compliment to Pentax that Canon/Nikon trolls making so much effort on spreading bad things about the Pentax brand. Maybe you could spend more time and get the facts right, plus some nuances.
A Canon or Nikon banner in your posts would be very interesting for you financially.
Well if you say things that aren’t true then you indeed would expect some complaints.
SDM failures was only the case with one lens the DA*16-50 that lens gave a lot of problems. But at least they aren’t like Canon that switch from system completely or like Nikon that cripple the entry level camera’s.
The DA*16-50 has SDM focus and screw-drive focus so that they work on all their camera’s. The problems are now solved btw so no need to worry anymore.
About the profesional camera, how many people need a better camera then a D300s, 7D or the K5… only the pro’s but that isn’t such a big market, Sony is trying his best but doesn’t do so well with theirs fullframe i believe…
The 645D isn’t launched with 1 lens.
the DFA55 is indeed the only lens that is weather sealed and has SDM but the older 645 FA lenses has been taken back in production.
Despite the sentiments expressed by the person leaving the previous comment, the K-5 that I bought when they first went on sale this past fall has provided excellent service: pictures are sharp, color is rich and evenly saturated and if I do have a sensor problem, I’ve not been able to notice it. Using the 31 & 77 limited lenses (particularly the 77 at around f11), I’ve gotten pictures with image quality nearly as good as my Leica M9 and Summicron lenses. My ONLY complaint with my K-5 is that the WB is sometimes a little off (towards the blue end of the light range) and needs “tweaking” in contrasty situations. This is easily done with the dedicated WB button and easy to understand and follow menus. Not only is this silver model cool looking but I would expect it to provide the same excellent photographs as my black K-5.
Don’t feed the troll. This guy has been hating on Pentax and nerdgasming over Canon for a while now – maybe if we ignore him he’ll take his mindless drivel elsewhere.
If this one is real it will probably be a Pentax K5 Silver (just another colour). The K7 Silver Limited had a golden SR and another focussing screen (rule of thirds).

The model is really a K5. I can see it because of the AF switch on the right and the lock button on top of the wheel (it is bigger/higher than the K7 one).
But there is something different. This silver one has another grip (see left). It is rounder on the side and there is another bump in the middle.

If it has the same prize as the black K5 (or a small difference), I will probably go for it.
It will look great with my old prime lens.
“what is pentax” is just a troll… Can i see your wonderful photos ? You have to be such a great artist… C’mon, show me the great work you’ve done with your Canon gears.
