    50 f1.2?

  • Ben

If it’s FF, then it isn’t a CCTV lens. In that case, my interest has been piqued.

      Yes, interesting.

A 135mm f/2.8 would be very welcome and might find its way into my bag.

    • benjamin

lots of v v good 135 2.8s out there. especially the minolta MC rokkors(the best i ve tried so far). i wouldnt mind a 35 1.4 or 50 1.0 just for kicks.

eeeh, who cares. theres plenty of fast primes lenses for 35mm.

    • Ben

HyperPrime seems to imply f/< 1.4. Do you have many of those?

      • http://twitter.com/#!/ZDP189 ZDP-189

To me, it’s just a brand name. As for primes faster than f/1.4, let’s see, I currently have a Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L, a Minolta MC-Rokkor 58mm f/1.2, a Nikkor-S Auto 1:1.2 f=55mm, Cosmicar 75mm 1:1.4 and a Nokton 50mm f/1.1. I used to have a Canon 50mm f/1.2 LTM, and others I now forget, but I preferred the optics of the slower versions. My point is they are plentiful and none are called “HyperPrime”.

So if HyperPrime is a designation rather than marketing hype, it had better mean wider than f/1.0

    I hope it will be a 50mm Nikon mount with f/0.95. :D

Any idea about the price range??

    • http://photorumors.com PR admin

no, but it will probably be more expensive than the APS-C version that will sell for around $1000

    • Dave

$8,400. Half the price of the Noctilux

well if they release a FF 50mm f/0.95 with Nikon F-mount for under 2k then count me in!

Maybe is not a lens i would use a lot but for some creative work imagine the bokeh you will get with it! I just hope is sharper than the current version used with NEX because those samples were kinda soft.

Other thing is that it better have built-in motor so it focuses faster and more accurate because the DoF with such a wide aperture is going to give you paper thing focus plane, your nose is on focus but your eyebrows are not!

f0.95 on a FF nikon is possible?
