whaddya mean OLED viewfinder? Is that one of those hybrid display finders like in the Fuji X100? That would be cool… This Sony looks quite well designed, may attract a lot of attention. Smart teleconverter? How smart? 12 fps? wow. Quite a package.

    • Filen

Are you sure you keen on photography oO

      • Artur Kozłowski

I hate photography, I just love nice, expensive toys to play with, duh.

  • Brian Richman

At first glance, that looks like a Nikon F mount on there!!!!!

    • Anon

      ..with Canon look body.

      • Artur Kozłowski

…and the way the viewfinder is hidden in the top curves is very Leica.

  • etr

    looks very impressive

The LCD is a let down. Why tilt when SONY could have gone for the very useful articulating one like Canon 60D or 600D?.

    • http://www.sonyalphamale.blogspot.com Jvs

Apparently it will be a three way tilt LCD screen. So that should be up, down and to the left. I am curious as to how they would do this with those hinges.

    • NiknWontRepairMyGray

It also looks more frail than the Canon’s/d5100 hinge system. Those only have 3 joints while the Sony has 5 joints including a long armbar that can break off.

Jvs, there is a joint directly under the Sony label that allows the lcd to be twisted left or right.

Hmm.. Good looking out. I’ll have to see on Wednesday how it’ll handle then. Can’t wait to play with this on that day.

    • harpo

      It does articulate.

Soon I will consider Sony Alpha as my second system. Nice camera.

Thoughts, seems strange sony trialing the a77 on a teenager, unless theyre going down the diverse market route?

Or unless he’s just edited the EXIF, which is possible but theres always the chance… :)

see his comment – he only “wishes”

      • Rob

Yurp, the pictures mine, wanted to see if it brought up anything interesting on the flickr camera database, which it doesn’t, unfortunately :/

  • John

Just to add to what I said, look at the description in this photo

    Hrmm?

Still waiting for classic DSLR from Sony

    • Artur Kozłowski

I don’t think that Sony is into classic, sorry. They are probably one of the most future oriented companies out there…

  • hi

the camera is nice! hope it takes nice pics!

Does the stated battery life seem pretty bad to anyone else? For a dSLR, at least?

  • Twaddler Belafonte

    It’s beautiful. O.O *swoon*

  • Tommy Hollister

Does anyone see the Thunderbolt Icon above the Remote rubber cover on the A77.
Please add this to the newest specs.
Thats awesome news great work SONY you rock.

I doubt this is the Thunderbolt icon, there is suppose to be a circle around it.

    • redfern

That’s the flash sync port under that cover. The camera will use USB 3.0, not Thunderbolt.

  • http://wwwe.idiukurac.com Drkman

I dunno if ya’l noticed, but there’s a 16-50/2.8 SSM lens attached to this monster!
I say way to go, Sony …!

  • Kevin

There is no way these specs are real.

    24 MP @ 12 FPS? That’s not possible.

  • abvw

If the buffer is bigger than 1GB, why not?

The bottleneck is the SD card.

  • Tommy Hollister

I know this is a Thunderbolt Icon. Sony laptops also will have this as well as USB 3.0

Sony a77 size comparison with Nikon D300, D7000 and Canon EOS 7D all matched up perfectly with their screen sizes :)

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/robellisphotography/6070734399/in/photostream/

The A77 is much bigger than youd think!

    Spot the typo!

By the way I was the one with the A77 EXIF info picture, if you happened to see it on my photostream :)
