Are they f2.8 ? That’s big leap forward for m4/3

  • Uuargggg

And by “large aperture” you mean exactly?

      probably f/2.8

  • Bonetti

I thinks that this is fake cause the X line has a motorize Zoom and you can see that this a re manual zoom lens and there is no zoom butoms

      it’s from Panasonic’s official presentation in Japan, I don’t think it’s fake

Maybe the new lenses will not be lens controlled but body controlled? The “old” X lenses have backwards compatibility now with the “old” Lumix G series cameras, probably these lenses come with new bodies.

    may be f2

      It is F2

I am not so concerned about the aperture. What I want is a video body that can coordinate the motor zoom and the range sensor to do an auto dolly zoom.

Going by the size of the lens mount and the glass inside, the 35-100mm is no more than f2.8 at the long end.

At that size, it will probably be 2.8. Have a look at the olympus 4/3 f/2 zooms to see how big (and expensive) an f/2 zoom will be.

These would be awesome additions to the line up, but I’m worried about cost. Will the 35-100mm cost $2400, much like the Canon/Nikon 70-200′s and Olympus 35-70? After all, Olympus is selling us a 45mm prime at 85mm prices, not 50mm prices.

To me, the Nikon 35-70 2.8 at about $800 new should be the reference point, not $2400.
