Fuji X10 (X50) to have image stabilization (up to 4 stops)?

fuji fujifilm finepix x10 x50 camera Fuji X10 (X50) to have image stabilization (up to 4 stops)?

Some more Fuji X10 details from the official Fujifilm forum apparently posted by a Fujifilm staff. The only news from the previous set of specs from yesterday is the OIS (Fuji X100 doesn't have any image stabilization):

  • CMOS Sensor EXR format 2/3 "12.0 megapixel resolution
  • EXR processor similar to that used in the X100
  • FUJINON manual zoom 4X 28-112 mm (equivalent) f/2.0 - 2.8 lens barrel is metal. This is a special lens to get the highest quality and OIS, the vibration of up to 4 stops.
  • OVF viewfinder is bright and clear
  • The X10 is smaller version of the X100. Controls are the same. The key is the Mode Dial to select the shutter speed shooting.
  • Dial on the rear of the camera, 2 sets of keys (sorry, Google translation)

Check also the Fuji X10 vs. X100 comparison taken from the same thread, the X10 is probably photoshopped:

Also, the lens and OVF are all glass (no plastic).

(Fuji X100 doesn’t have any zoom either!) :P

I actually like the specs on this. Glass performance is always important, but I hope it has improved AF. Seems also to be lacking a built in EVF.

Similar to the Contax G2 concept: compact pro camera with non-TTL zooming optical viewfinder. But how will the manual focus work?

this will be strongly compared to nikon’s incoming mirrorless offering… one key factor would be the battery life comparison…

The ProMaster specs said 500 shots on the battery. That would suggest a new larger battery than previous Fujifilm cameras including the X100. We will see.

PR has recently become at least as interesting as NR. Keep it up admin.

It is far more interesting than NR recently I think.

Nikon can take a hike until next year for all I care.

Nikon should see that sites like NR can help Nikon. Its current indifference and apathy to NR is disappointing.

PR is doing really good with samsung&fuji leaks

Btw, isnt it peculier that photo has F2 lens on it? (instead f2-f2,8)

Yes, in the comparison image the X10 is fake. Maybe I should remove it not to confuse readers. The image from yesterday is the real deal.

Aww, the exposure comp dial had real Klasse.

This image is one of the fakes. The focal length is wrong, too. That should read 7.1-28.4mm, f2-2.8.

I really like the manual zoom and optical viewfinder. I’m a pro and would never use this as my primary camera, but I might take a serious look at this as a second/fun camera if it has a big, bright viewfinder and a real hardware control for the aperture.

i hope this doesn’t (as other recent offerings have) get a bloated price based on its retro aesthetics alone.

Exactly who is this camera gear toward? Who is asking for this camera?

If it has comparable image and lens quality to the XZ-1, and similar extra controls to the G12, but in a more compact package – then me!

Me too. This camera is aimed as a 2nd, 3rd, 4th or whatever camera to people who shoot DSLRS for serious pics and do not find a G12 or P7100 more appealing than this Fuji. I am asking.

Anybody who liked the Leica Digilux 2/Pana LC-1. Advanced photogs that like manual controls.

That may well be the case, I hope the X10 is the better camera (AF pending). I was let down by it (I’m sure many will disagree)

it has begun… I like the (although possible photoshopped) pop fill flash and black body look. Will be waiting as well to see how the battery last, and when will they start using USB-charing like on the phone?
