    who wrote that fluff piece? the X100 was neither “omnipotent” nor a “pro-level monster”. it’s a polarizing camera whose major faults are overlooked on account of it’s retro styling and use of alternative technologies.

    Likewise I suspect most people who think ‘retro styling’ is a main reason for it popularity neither own one, nor have extensive experience shooting with one. It’s not about styling; I like it for the same reasons that I like Ricoh and Canon.

    i respect your opinion, but there are plenty of reviewers who’ve used this camera extensively (including myself) and who’ve been deeply frustrated by it (even while at the same time liking its output/size/etc). it may be a joy to use for many people (i’m not trying to take anyone’s pleasure away from them), but it’s not a ‘pro-level monster’ or ‘omnipotent’. there’s my argument, and i reference the majority of professional reviewers as supporting evidence. cheers.
