Panasonic confirmed to Techradar that there will be no update to the GH2 model this year. It seems that the next Photokina show (that will take place in September, 2012) will be very important event for Panasonic.
Few months ago Panasonic did mentioned that they want to split the Lumix GF line into consumer and professional cameras. A new pro GF camera will probably be released before the GH3.

Well considering the GH2 is just now in stock at most retailers i’d say they have some time to work on major improvements. What the market really needs (IMHO) is Panasonic’s true replacement to the GF1, something that can compete with the NEX-7/X100/V1 arena. If anyone can come back with a solid product i think it could be them. A built-in viewfinder is going to be a must though…
well after everyone has hacked their equipment , maybe they would start listening and deliver a really awesome dslr with which the customer would have no desire to hack himself and just USE IT as delivered !
