Sony NEX-5R and NEX-6 cameras leaked at Indonesian comunication agency

The Indonesian communication agency has listings on their website for two new Sony cameras: NEX-5R and NEX-6. The two new cameras are expected to be announced before Photokina. The Sony NEX-5R is rumored to have 16MP, Wi-Fi and flip screen like the NEX-F3. The Sony NEX-6 will have an EVF, Wi-Fi and a price tag lower than the NEX-7. Sony is expected also to announce three new NEX lenses: probably a 16-50mm pancake, another 11-18mm pancake and another fast prime lens.

Nice, pancake zooms is what NEX desperately needs.

16-50 is roughly 24-75 in 35 mm. If they can make it f 4.0 in the tele end or brighter, sure it would be a best seller.

50/4 is half inch diameter of front lens. Nothing says it cannot be small. It would be more pricey to make it smaller, not impossible.

Agreed about f4 at the tele end. But rumor has it at f.56 at the tele end, to keep size size down.

Bummer if that’s indeed the case.

Who else likes to have the STD1?

I suspect that an e-mount 16-50, even if f/5.6 at long end will probably stretch the definition of what most of us would consider “pancake”, but if it was even reasonably compact (let’s say, ‘collapsible’), it would be a welcome addition. The concept of NEX-6 is sound, maybe Lumix G-3/G-5-like.
