Tomorrow: Sony NEX-5R announcement

Tomorrow Sony will announce their new NEX-5R mirrorless camera. Here is what we know so far on this model:

  • 16.1MP CMOS Exmor sensor
  • ISO range: 100-25,600
  • 10 fps
  • Hybrid AF with 99 phase detection and 25 contrast detection AF points
  • 3" 921k dots tiltable LCD touch screens
  • Built-in Wi-Fi
  • New camera apps
  • 1920x1080 60i/60p/24p video recording capability
  • Three colors: white, black, silver
  • Price: around $650 (body only)

    maybe i will try the nex-5r once i saw the detail of this . i used to be fuji fan ,and i was longing to have a x-pro1

    I am a NEX7-OM-D-D800E user but I used to be a NEX5n shooter for a while it was a great CSC camera.
    I think the 5 series is more practical than the 7 , the 7 is strictly ISO100 only kind of camera but the 5n can be acceptable even at ISO800.

    That said , it cannot beat the OM-D as a system until Sony gets more serious about re-designing all E mount lenses.
    All current E mount lenses including so-called Zeiss(actually a Tamron) are lousy , I mean really lousy.

        Probably trying to say the quality is Tamron-like. I don’t have anything against Tamron though.

        The 24 1.8 for E mount is a good lens. I don’t like it because it’s too chunky.

    Design of this is beyond retarded. The lens mount is bigger than the body itself. I guess that’s what You get when everyone thinks he can design something.

      You beat me to it. Also spotted the mount being larger than the body. They should have just done away with the grip, and made the whole thing a cylinder. Sorta handycamy.

          A proper camera with NON-retarded ergonomics user with 20+ years of experience in product design, with skills and knowledge about ergonomics, design etc.
          Happy with your photo made 2 hours after the intended moment because you had to change a basic settings and there is no button for it only ultra idiotic menu with ridiculous layout and took you 2 hours to find that and change it?
