Hasselblad H4D-31 Discontinued

A recent Calumet newsletter indicated that the Hasselblad H4D-31 medium format camera ($11,995) is now discontinued. Some of the H4D-31 kits configurations are also listed as discontinued at B&H. The H4D-31 was introduced in September 2010 and had a huge price reduction last  year.

I wanted to take advantage of the offering on this camera but could not because I am not a “student.” I understand H’s idea about getting the camera into young hands to make them (potentially) life long H users, but old guys who haven’t been in school for a long time want a deal too.

Talk to the Hasselblad rep in your area, he or she might just be able to get something done for you.

Would love to get one of those. Those great lenses, leaf shutter for unproblematic high speed flash sync, great dof control etc. Only the damn price still out of my reach.
