Panasonic talks again about 4k cameras in 2014

In a recent interview with DCWatch, Panasonic confirmed previous rumors that a new GH camera with 4k video will likely be announced in 2014. Here  are the main points from the interview:

  • Panasonic is working on improving the connectivity with smartphones.
  • The compact camera market is shrinking but super zoom compact cameras are still selling fine (Panasonic FZ series).
  • The mirrorless camera market is now shifting towards more "pro" products.
  • The key development areas to make better mirrorless cameras are : imaging processor, sensor and EVF.
  • A new GH camera with 4K is likely to come in 2014.

Five new digital cameras are expected from Panasonic in 2014 (a Photokina year).
