    KoWhat?

Kowa’s been around for a long time, making a variety of optical stuff. Their own cameras were not that great, except the lenses, which were.

  • Kynikos

    Steep pricing.
Olympus 12mm 2.0, which is pretty well regarded, goes for less.

  • Maria Mociornita

I know they make only surveillance camera lens 🙂

And some of the best spotting scopes. And industrial lenses. And medical lenses. And lots of other great lenses over the past 70 years. They know their stuff.

The Samyang 12mm f2 costs less than half as much as the Kowa 12mm. And it’s excellent. Just saying…

    Any word on US distribution?

Surprised to see these guys are still around. Least time I messed with Kowa anything, it was their Supper 66 2-1/4 SLR back in the 90s. Nice camera, but man, those medium format mirror kicks! Freaks you out the first few times.

Have you ever shot a pentax 6×7? They have tremendous mirror slap.

      • Spy Black

        Yeah, that’s another one. 🙂

Apparently there was a “sighting” of the Loch Ness Monster the other day.
And now Kowa m43 lenses also. Who knows, perhaps someone will see a Schneider m43 lens one day…..

    What’s with the green?
