New firmware update for the Panasonic GX8, G7 and FZ300 will allow to select focus after the picture is taken

I received some information that Panasonic will release a new firmware update for the GX8, G7 and FZ300 cameras this Friday, November 20th. The firmware will be available for download on November 25th and will allow users to select the focus point after the picture is already taken - something similar to the Lytro lightfield cameras. The new focus feature will probably work based on their '4k photo' and will allow users to touch where to focus or zoom in and use focus peaking for more precise selection.

Another feature Panasonic is working on is "in-camera focus stacking" (it will most likely be released later).

Additional information on the Panasonic Post Focus function can be found here.
