    Heck yes.

  • Dan

Does the screen swivel as well as tilt? Or is the mockup broken?

    • Glorfindelrb

      It’s not broken.

    • Pirate_Bear

it’s a vari-angle screen. Behind the screen you’ll find a led light to illuminate a little around the back of the camera.
Imho I think the top lcd is too small.

    • Imp

      lol

    > The price is rumored to be €1,999 for the body-only (around $2,200, US prices are usually lower)

€1,999 is VAT (20%) included, isn’t t? It would therefore correspond to $1,849-1,899.

    • Ritvar Krum

exactly – finnaly one can do the math tht been so elementar for decade (or more). ussually $ prices was even lower… but now euro have weakened significantly – so: you take Euro zone price and euro/dolar exchange rate minus 19-22% (VAT varries from country to country in EU) = your USA price for alost anything

    • nwcs

It depends. Taxes are higher (VAT) but also the cost of warranty is higher in EU than US. The return period and warranty period mandated by law has a cost passed onto the consumer. Also currency fluctuates in value so there is usually a hedge for all currencies but the native one to the manufacturer.

      • TinusVerdino

Liability risks are a lot higher in the US :p If someone drops the camera on his big toe they will claim 1 billion dollars in damages.

        • nwcs

lol, but thankfully most of those are tossed out.

    • Spy Black

      I say $1999.

  • Jeffry De Meyer

Any word on the 70200 that was postponed.
Or are they just going to sell it with the tamron trinity

    • TinusVerdino

No it will be launched at CP+ and available from april

      • DickeNüsse

        April 2017 maybe

        • TinusVerdino

Isn’t the kit lens a bit shit for Pentax’s first ever digital FF camera? You’d think Ricoh as a big company would be able to put products to the market in a timely fashion – i.e. pair this with the 24-70mm instead.

    • Kunzite

Because it’s smart to have no “affordable” zoom for the K-1, but only a 1300€ f/2.8 zoom?
The 24-70 is already on the market by the way, you can get it if you want. IF.

    • Zos Xavius

The tamron is hardly shit. Quit trolling.

      • jar_jar_

Is the kit lens a Tamron too? The article mentions the 15-30 is a Tamron, but their 28-105 is a 2.8, so it probably wouldn’t be that. I thought the kit was supposed to be a Pentax design, maybe similar to the old FA 28-105 4-5.6 (which was actually a pretty nice design IMO).

      • DickeNüsse

        the juice

      • Shutterbug

Clearly he is talking about the 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6, the 15-30 is not a kit lens.

        • Zos Xavius

I read through to fast! 🙂

      • DickeNüsse

Dam right, Zeiss buy their Batis designs from Tamron…

      • Narretz

Is any opinion trolling nowadays? I’m just wondering why Pentax is pairing this with a slow zoom.

        • Zos Xavius

First of all I read through the post too fast. I thought you were referring to the tamron 24-70 which is actually a pretty good lens. Secondly how can you claim any lens is shit if you haven’t even used it yet? They are pairing it with a lens that might be really useful for a lot of people. Not everyone needs a fast lens. For a walkaround this is a pretty idea range.

        • Roberto Duran

Its a kit lens, those are for general porpuses and most of the time are not the best, that is why they call it KIT.. if you dont like the kit lens because you might need something better, just buy the camera and buy the 24-70 f2.8 or the 70-200 f2.8 or the 15-30 f2.8 ( the last 2 should come out when the body is out) or whatever lens might fit the needs. Complaning about a kit lens is pointless.

  • MonkeySpanner

Not seeing anything there that is new. Current Pentax users may be tempted, but I can’t see this product drawing new to Pentax users.

    • HD10

The Pentax high-resolution mode utilizing 4 shots will be interesting.

    • Imp

      hehe… 9 more days and we’ll see!

    • Jeffry De Meyer

Same could have been said about the sony a7 series
For some reason people still buy those.

      • MonkeySpanner

When the a7 launched there was nothing else like it.

  • FountainHead

+1 for any and all roadmaps.

    • Imp

      Yes PLS!!

  • DickeNüsse

Anybody remember the rumor about Tamron offering Pentax lenses about a year back? It all makes sense now.

  • gamer

What I want from Pentax is full frame with on sensor phase detection. I use live view quite a lot and I need faster live view autofocus.
