Canon pace of innovation is amazingly…. Bad.

    • Marvin8

Totally. Not even an EVF. 😀

      • Sean

Very disappointing, yet again. Even on heir II iterations they still lag….Canonitis.

    • Adam

      What were you looking for?

      • jeffp3456

ability to add on the existing external EVF (choice is good)

    • speedy fisher

In 2016 it’s good to see new cameras proudly supporting Full HD video. Once again Canon shock the industry, catapulting us forward into new eras of technology.

      • Moo

show us some of your 4k videos.. oh wait you can not.
        what a suprise.
you guys are talking bulls*it 24/7 and don´t even use 4k video. not to mention having the hardware to display it…..

        • speedy fisher

You’re an angry little liar, aren’t you?

Maybe you’re stuck using your old 640×480 CRT monitor, but believe it or not a lot of us actually are using 4k hardware and produce 4k content on a frequent basis.

so I do have the G7X – to me the specs listed are the exact same as on the GX7 – maybe I am wrong on the processor – all the rest is the same –

The GX7 has advantages over the ever popular RX100m3/4 – longer focal range and Touch Focus and Shutter and Touch LCD –
The mics are better on the GX7 vs the RX100m3/4 – Price – the rest I think Sony wins on –

    So a wish list for the G7X m2 –

EVF – ( does not have to be fantastic but something close to the one on the RX100 m3/4 )

Better art affects – especially the B/W – current one is bad –
one or two more Fn buttons – if not possible to have physical then few soft Fn buttons like Panasonic does –

Control ring – to have quiet mode as well

    More features –

4K would be nice but probably unrealistic from Canon 🙂
and it might price go up to much

The current price on the GX7 gives it an edge – for Canon to compete with the RX100 m3/4 they have to offer more for less money –
the G5X looks ok but with the large EVF hump in the middle it makes it less pocketable – and I think most in this class are looking for something pocketable – both Panasonic and Sony have shown it is possible to put an EVF on that size camera –

      Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II vs. G7 X:

      – Digic 7 instead of Digic 6
      – Continuous shooting up to 8 fps instead of 6 fps
      – You tell me whether the G7 X’s screen could tilt down (I couldn’t find it).

      • Jón Ingólfur Hermannsson

Does not tilt down. I just turn camera 360 if i need the LCD down. But tricky to shoot so it would be nice to have LCD that flipped up and down
I think an EVF and 4K would make the g7x more competitive than 6fps vs 8fps 🙂

        • Mistral75

The G7 X Mark II’s LCD screen tilts 180° up and 45° down.

          • Jón Ingólfur Hermannsson

That is good So some small improvements. All welcome. Anything that makes it competitive to the Rx100 m3/4

          • Spy Black

You mean like an EVF? 😉

          • Sean

            No, still lagging.

  • Jeffry De Meyer

I hope Canon will be smart and let it out perform the 7dmk2

    • Moo

that would be stupid not smart….

      • Jeffry De Meyer

Nope they are selling the 7dmk2 for next to nothing already.

making it out perform would make more people inclined to either switch or stick to canon.
They can introduce an 8d with the innards of the 1dx2

  • TinusVerdino

Canon are going to run out of numbers. 80D 90D plfrrtD

  • aZu

EOS 80D and EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM have already been added to the list

  • malchick743

The G7X-II would be much welcome, but having screen tilt-down capability means complicating the hinge design, and making the back flex cable easily exposed…

Other things to watch out for would be the dial design (still sticky EV dials?) and pop-up flash design (fixed direction or manually tillable for bounce, just like the G1X-II?). EVF would be nice, but not too expected.

  • Sean

Another Canon disappointment….where is the EVF or an actual changes from the I to justify the II. Looks like Fuji did with the XQ1 to XQ2. Canon fell short again as this was solely a marketing thing.

  • Eddy Kamera

    80D spec – Jump to 70D specs.

  • Sean

Yet another Poweshot with No 4K and No EVF…very disappointing!

  • Originaru

    G7x vs G7x2 specs?
Seems the exact same camera specs with 8 fps?
